Can a simple word
say what needs to be said
to a special person
who has been a friend?

We rarely take the time
or the trouble to say
“Thank you my friend”
“I’m glad you were here today.”

Thank you for the times
we just sat and talked
about God and of life
and what it is all about.

Though I know tomorrow
we will go our separate ways;
thank you my friend
for being here today.
